This place is just fabulous. The food is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is very cozy old school New York. We had the burgers, a milkshake, an egg cream, and a stack of chocolate chip pancakes. It was all excellent - the burgers in particular were exceptional!The staff were attentive and just lovely. Really nice people. Highly recommend!

Came here to try the so called 'best Burger' in NYC and was not disappointed. The homely and non-big city atmosphere in the restaurant is a welcome change in a city that is running at a hundred miles an hour.The burger was cooked to perfection and the sides weren't too shabby at all. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an excellent old fashioned hamburger without the fancy gimmicks

Very good comfort food and nice atmosphere

One of the worst burgers I’ve had. Maybe it’s different if you sit and eat there but what I brought home was a tasteless, dry bun, in a soggy bun. I was disappointed.

Were there once lunch counters on every NYC corner? Now, Joe Jr is so special: great service, colorful characters, tasty classic fare (next time I'll get the burger). Above all, that special diner ambiance... Joe Jr should be landmarked.

Finally made it to this charming eatery. Terrific experience. Just the basics done right. I did the cheeseburger, fresh meat, cooked to order a few feet away on the grill. Fabulous. The staff, warm, attentive and obviously popular with the neighborhood residents. I sat at the counter for the full experience. The vintage diner-like setting is clean and well maintained. I can't wait to return with friends to enjoy a relaxed meal in a great neighborhood.

The burger is well cooked, no frills joint

As soon as I entered Juniors, I knew immediately that I was in for a memorable experience. When I saw the bond between the employees and how happy they were to be working there, I knew that their food will differ from other diners. I got a cozy, family vibe when I was there and It was very comfortable. Their food was really tasty, especially their cheeseburger. The way the burger was cooked is not well done, but more medium, so it was very juicy and tender. However I think you can request a well done burger. Also, the pancakes here was the best I've ever tasted. The prices here are very decent, It will cost you about $10-$15 depending on what you get.I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did!

Those guys running that place are awesome. Such hard workers! Great old fashioned diner. Be patient.

Stopped by for breakfast because the place looked like a classic neighborhood diner. But I was pretty appalled at the quality. My kid got a waffle with fresh fruit and he ended up with off color, old strawberries and dried out melon chunks. Really nasty. I got a grilled cheese with tomato and the tomato was mealy and tasted off. Maybe this place is good for burgers and fries food, but don't come here expecting fruit or veg to be edible.

Stopped in for breakfast, got the steak and eggs. The portion size was good and they actually cooked my steak right, which is surprising as other places usually overcook it. It is a very busy place and after eating there I understand why because the food is great. The waiter was very friendly and insured that everyone at the table got refills an had everything they needed. I will be sure to visit again next trip to NYC.

BEST FOOD EVER!Was in NY for a week, went there almost every day for breakfast.Great and fast service. Amazing food. Friendly atmosphere, and fantastic people.All in all I'd recommend this place to anyone!

I visited here on my first morning in NYC as I stayed nearby. I enjoyed the food so much I ended up going back about 4 times in my 2 week trip. The breakfasts are delicious, coffee is on refill and a great experience overall

A nice quality place you can get a variety of good food

Very old school coffee shop/diner with exactly the food you would expect for a great price. Chocolate chip pancakes and omelettes are fantastic for breakfast and their burger and fries are as close to prefect as it gets. Not trendy, just the basics that never disappoint. The decor has not changed in 30 years and the staff are no nonsense but very nice.

Not a place to be if you don’t want to be racially profiled.Walked in and was greeted with respect from the guy who was sweeping. He held the door open for me with a smile. Then I read the menu, ordered my food, sat myself down, and waited. I paid for my food before I received it. There was a bag of food placed next to me and I asked if this was my food and the guy said no. A few minutes later, another guy came and said that it was my food, so I told him that the other guy told me it wasn’t. That guy didn’t say anything after I said that. I was quiet and respectful the whole time, I guess they assumed different of me because I didn’t receive the same respect I had given to them. Good food though, but I would not recommend if you’re Black/Hispanic with black features.

I've been eating at Joe's Junior since the 80's. The Staff was there is the 80's is there now. We always recognize each other. Their food is always good😋👍🏿. The atmosphere friendly. A truly a neighbor and stranger welcome diner💜

Disregard any bias towards the lovely name! This is one of my favorite diners in the city. Very authentic: tasty, affordable, and a great community spot. Not a polished knock-off! Viva Junior!

Finally got a chance to stop by and order some burgers. The guy at the front was super helpful and friendly (he was totally entertaining my fidgety son while I was studying the menu). He also suggested which burgers to get and highly recommended the garlic fries (sooo good). Prices are fair, considering the size of the burger. The only downside was one of our burgers came out too rare so I had to microwave it to cook a bit more. Other than that, we'll definitely be back. Oh-- and the free pickles!-- so. freakn'. good.

New York needs more no frills diners like Joe Jr.'s. Aside from doing the regulars well, they make a world-class cheeseburger for under $8 and are open to midnight daily. Try the patty melt, it's perfect!

Great place for a burger and fries! This corner diner has a short Formica counter, a half-dozen four-seater tables, and an ample menu covering all meals.The platters are also good. The burger is the star.

Diner food at its best, perfectly prepared, tasty, and emotionally satisfying. Had bacon cheeseburger, ordered medium rare, and it was nicely charred on the outside and juicy moist in the centre. Fries crisp.

Ate there around 6:30 AM and there were already a few customers. The service was excellent and food came quick!

I can not argue when it comes burgers, this really is the best burger I have ever had. Simple cooked medium with cheese and bacon. If you need something that will put a smile on your face this is the place to go. No gimmicks just a true original, a classic you can not go wrong with. If you are in New York City, whether visiting or living this is a must eat spot.

Best breakfast to start the day. One of the last oldfashioned Diners with a nice and cozy atmosphere. Loud when it is crowded, but it feels familiar. Try pancakes and cottage cheese omelette. Soulfood at its best, and it is said, that you get the best burgers in New York. This is a must go for every tourist to feel the "real new York".

Stumbled on this place because I needed to use the bathroom & I ordered a coffee as a courtesy. When I grabbed my coffee, I noticed the fries of the guy sitting next to me; they looked amazing so I ordered. Fabulous fries - hot & very crispy, just like I like them. The lady sitting next to me enjoyed a lovely tuna-on-toast sandwich; she said it was wonderful and she usually ordered it. She also mentioned they have the best burgers & that when she lived in the neighborhood this was her neighborhood joint. Food is VERY inexpensive ($5.56 for fries & coffee)!! I’m definitely coming back.

Pretty poor tasting burger meat. Was both undercooked and overcooked in different parts of the patty. Pickle and fries were good. But honestly don’t understand the “platonic ideal of a diner burger” that people describe this place as - maybe I was just unlucky

WOW this was a transcendent burger experience!! Burger was so juicy and condiments were on point. Best burger I've had in the last year. Service is quick and kind.

The burgers here are very good. Very juicy and tasteful. I had the bacon cheese burger and it’s solid. The fries were not all that. I didn’t even finish mine. Kind of disappointed in that. But everyone loved the burgers hands down. The milkshakes were amazing! Tried vanilla strawberry and chocolate and they were all great! I think the strawberry was the best!

Although I generally avoid burgers at diners, they have arguably the best burger I've had thus far in my 28 years in NYC. Additionally, always ask for it "no plancha".

Visiting from San Francisco and this is the official breakfast joint. Great service, good food, swell atmosphere.
